  • Absolutely! We specifically designed our event for everyone from families with young children, marathon runners!…or anyone looking for a lighter, casual stroll. Most important this event is fun!

  • Please wear comfortable, closed-toe walking shoes and dress in weather-appropriate layers. Bring a reusable water bottle, a hat, and sunscreen if needed. Tip: If you plan to claim your free bag of OgoGrow compost, make sure you have a vehicle or wagon to transport it home!

  • Nope, we’ve got you covered! KSAN and our partners will provide all the heavy-duty garbage bags, protective gloves, and a limited supply of litter pickers for everyone.

  • The spring cleanup happens rain or shine! April in Kelowna can be a bit unpredictable, so please bring a rain jacket if the forecast looks gloomy. In the rare event of severe extreme weather, we will email all registered volunteers first thing in the morning with an update.

  • Safety is our top priority. Please do not touch broken glass, needles, or heavy, hazardous materials. Simply let your Team Leader know, or follow the directions on the City of Kelowna website : https://www.kelowna.ca/city-services/safety-emergency-services/safe-needle-disposal

  • The bags are full of rich compost and can be quite heavy! We highly recommend bringing a wagon, a sturdy cart, or parking your vehicle nearby so you can easily transport your free bag home after the BBQ.

  • You get a prize! After you finish the social cleanup with your gourp, head back to Strathcona Park for refreshments and claim your prize!
